Transport Support

Helping participants stay connected to people, places and opportunities.

What this support is about

Transport can be the difference between being included and being isolated.

AAC provides transport support for participants who need help getting to appointments, school, work, therapy, social activities, community events, shopping, errands or other everyday commitments.

Our transport support is designed to be safe, practical and aligned with the participant’s routine and goals.

What transport support may include

  • Transport to and from appointments
  • School, study or work-related travel
  • Community access and social outings
  • Shopping and errands
  • Medical and therapy appointments
  • Group activity transport
  • Support getting in and out of the vehicle where suitable
  • Travel planning and routine transport arrangements

Safe and suitable travel arrangements

Every participant’s transport needs are different.

AAC will discuss the participant’s mobility, transfer needs, support requirements and destination before confirming transport arrangements.

Where suitable, transport may support participants who use mobility aids, walkers or foldable wheelchairs, provided safe travel arrangements can be made.

More than a ride

For many participants, transport support is also about building confidence.

That may include learning routines, practising safe community access, arriving calmly to appointments, getting to work on time, or feeling more independent when moving through the world.
